Audiovisión is an interview podcast produced by the Colectivo de Investigación Sonora para Medios Audiovisuales (Sound Research Collective for Audiovisual Media) (CISMA) and the Joint Academic Unit between the Faculty of Information and Communication and the Faculty of Arts of the Universidad de la República, which addresses the intersection between audio and audiovisual, narrative, interactive, and performing arts languages. This initiative is conceived as a research-creation project to survey, bring into dialogue, and systematize the professional knowledge of those who compose, design, or think about sound across different media. A guiding question for the work is what convergences regarding audio can be reconstructed from a series of interviews with creators from different disciplines and career paths. Preliminary analysis of the first recorded season points to several possible threads, such as the boundaries between music, sound design, and sound art; the negotiation between personal vision and external demands in applied composition; working with pre-existing sound material versus material created specifically for each project; the impact of new technologies; and the particularities of working in Uruguay. The project establishes links between Udelar and external professionals, produces content with educational potential, and provides opportunities for pre-professional practice for university students.
The first season consists of interviews with Bruno Boselli, Lukas Kühne, Sofía Scheps, Leonardo Secco, Felipe Ipar, Claudia Píriz, Leonardo Croatto, Sandra Massera and Luciano Supervielle.
The music used for the show's openings and endings is Pictures of the Fight'N Rage original soundtrack.
